Breaking Funding Barriers
for Women of Color.
Jamilah Mena is a force —
A multilingual attorney, strategist, and advisor who moves through the world with purpose.
A proud Garifuna-American with deep roots in Honduras and a global career spanning law, tech, and venture capital, Jamilah founded Nemeri Ventures to break barriers and build bridges. As a first generation attorney and the first in her family to scale a business, she knows firsthand what it means to navigate spaces that were not designed with you in mind. With an acute awareness of how access, not talent, is often the missing piece, she created an advisory firm focused on preparing and supporting women of color founders at every stage of their funding journey.
Her career has taken her across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa, guiding founders through the labyrinth of capital raising from strategy to investor readiness. At Nemeri, she curates a space where vision meets opportunity, where brilliant women of color entrepreneurs gain the knowledge, tools, and networks to transform their ideas into fundable, scalable businesses. Jamilah ensures they walk into the room not just ready, but undeniable. She also partners with mission-aligned organizations who share her commitment to expanding access.
Building Generational Wealth, Honoring Generational Wisdom
A storyteller at her core, she channels her energy through voice, spoken or sung. Whether commanding a room with sharp insight or pouring raw emotion into poetry and song, her voice is her power. And through Nemeri, she ensures others find theirs, too.
"I built this firm with the same resilience my ancestors passed down to me, because true freedom means economic empowerment."
— Jamilah Mena.
